a hazy half moon
rides high in the evening sky
white petals drift down
a hazy half moon
rides high in the evening sky
white petals drift down
Christmas Eve, we spent 3 hours driving east starting at sunset. This means I got to enjoy the full moon rising for all three hours. It was a very Zen experience watching the moon alternate between clear skies and dancing in the clouds.
I only had my iPhone and we were moving so I didn’t get a good picture but maybe this gives the feeling of the bright moon and the misty clouds.
finger by finger
city haze wraps around the
sinking crescent moon
cool sand, soft on my feet,
the old moon in the arms of the new,
stars coming out one by one.
the sweet taste of wine in my mouth,
and thoughts of you.
the evening air a cool touch on my face,
my footsteps shadows on the wind-blown sand.
wishing.
thinking of your touch:
warm when I’m cold,
tender when I’m lonely,
soothing when I’m restless,
comforting, giving me strength.
wishing I could share with you
who are too far away to touch
except in my mind
and heart
as I watch the evening sky go dark.
