Weekly Photo Challenge: Intricate

I have recently returned to my art background, I have taken up the art of the woodcut. You take a piece of wood or wood-like substance, outline a picture in black and white and use tools to cut away the white part. It then gets ink rolled onto the remaining raised (original) surface, a piece of paper gets put down on it and it is rolled between the rollers of a press to mash the ink onto the paper.

The picture can be as simple or as intricate as you can think up and cut. This picture includes almost everything I have done since I got started again.

My New Year’s resolution was to get back in touch with my inner artistic child. I think I have found her.

So, say something.
