This is a tribute to a friend of mine who, while chopping broccoli because his wife asked him to, managed to slice his fingers instead of the vegetable. I expect he will be excused from broccoli in the future.
This is a way to make broccoli a little more interesting by adding some noodles.

1 bunch of broccoli crowns
1 package of ramen noodles

Choose your flavor of ramen noodles to go with whatever meat course you are having, chicken, pork, beef, etc.
Cut the broccoli into bite-sized pieces, put them into a saucepan and cover with water. If it is a bit tired and limp, use cold water and let it sit for 10-15 minutes and it will crisp right up.
Bring the water to a boil, add half the seasoning packet from the ramen noodles and cook broccoli until almost tender. Using a scoop or slotted spoon, lift the broccoli from the water and put in a covered dish. It will continue cooking with residual heat.
Break the noodles into 2 or 3 sections and drop into the water, boil for 3 minutes and remove from the heat. Let it sit until the noodles sink to the bottom, that allows you to pour most of the cooking water off without losing noodles. Stir in the broccoli and the other half of the seasoning packet and serve. If you want, you could sprinkle sesame seeds over the top.
One benefit of cooking it this way is some of the nutrients that boil out of the broccoli get reabsorbed by the noodles as they cook. And it makes it just a little bit more fun.
