And now, meet the cats

We have three cats, Critter, Lucky and Abby.

Critter is the oldest at 15. He is mostly white with gray on his head, tail and legs. We got him from a rescue group when we lived in Denison, Tx. He was about 3 months old and already knew how to catch mice. He was my little hunter. I had never seen a vole until he brought one home. He’s too old and arthritic to hunt anymore but he still keeps me good company.

Lucky is my black cat. He’s about 3 1/2 or so. He showed up around the house about half grown and hungry so we fed him. He was wild and wouldn’t let us get near him. It took a while but Brian managed to get him to let us pet him. I took a while more after that before he would come in the house. Now he has moved in fully and considers himself priveledged.

Abby, we haven’t had long, she came from the city shelter. I fell in love with her picture online and brought her home with a cold which turned out to be a chronic infection that took 5 rounds with 6 different antibiotics to get her over it. She is a calico tabby and she talks a lot. She is affectionate and funny. She is about 10 years old and has had a hard life before she came to live with us. At one time, she lived on the streets, she has one ear with the tip clipped off which means she lived in a feral colony and had been trapped and neutered and returned to the street. She is very much enjoying her cushy life indoors with us.
